The position will be hybrid, working 3 days/week in one of our office locations in St. Pete, FL, West Palm Beach, FL or New York, NY, or fully remote for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and resolve first party property litigation; including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and trial.
  • Analyze and evaluate claims to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Manage and collaborate with internal and external legal counsel to ensure effective representation in litigation matters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date claim files, including documentation of all relevant communications, decisions, and actions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders to provide updates and information on claim status and progress.
  • Continuously monitor and assess industry trends, legal developments, and best practices to ensure the highest level of service and expertise.
  • Draft and issue reservation of rights and denial letters, retain and direct counsel, evaluate exposure and establish reserves, manage emergency response and repair vendors, manage various experts including; engineers, accountants, and rebuilding consultants, report internally and externally as required and negotiate settlements.
  • Manage property subrogation recovery.
  • Represent Company in the resolution of complex claims and participate in legal proceedings, including mediations.
  • Work with other areas of the company, including underwriting, finance and accounting, actuarial, sales and marketing, risk management, operations, and technology on projects as requested.
  • Prepare claim summaries and other reports as necessary for management.
  • Present severity claims to senior management in large loss meetings.
  • Comply with internal and external reporting and compliance.
  • Travel up to 20% including catastrophe travel to large scale catastrophic events as required. 



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, insurance, or law
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or personal lines property claims management and litigation
  • Strong knowledge of property insurance coverage, liability, and damages
  • Excellent negotiation, mediation, and arbitration skills - Ability to manage multiple complex claims and litigation matters simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or paralegal certification
  • Experience in commercial or personal lines property insurance
  • Professional designations, such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Associate in Claims (AIC)
